it'd also be sort of cruel, in a way, for there to be a "the players are ai" twist revealed as more and more human designs for the tadc characters have been created by fans. i'll be kind of relieved if this isn't the plot direction the show goes in, but i'm expecting it for now.

another good counter for ting-lu is milotic, since it can use water type moves, and would also have recover AND life dew. ting-lu also has lower special defense than physical defense.

preemptive post for the eventual ting-lu raids: iron hands might not be the best pokemon to bring since ting-lu is a ground type and iron hands is electric/fighting. unless you use drain punch endlessly and are really really bulky, you're probably better off using a different pokemon.
