In a major attack on elections, President Trump fired all remaining commissioners on a bipartisan federal agency created to help states administer elections. The dismissals leave the agency without leadership months before the midterm elections.

The DOJ’s election monitoring program was established to enforce protections against racial discrimination in voting and address any interference with the right to vote. The Trump administration’s purpose for election monitors appears very different. Here’s how:

Absolute BS; DHS got $29.9 BILLION in July 2025 for enforcement purposes, specifically including funding for information technology used for enforcement, which absolutely could have been used to purchase body cams.

They’re called Regressionists because they regress human progress (that is Republicans). Hence, society has to cover ground it already covered just to get back to where it was. It’s not hard to see what’s happening: Republicans are trying to build a totalitarian state: a state that is only accountable to itself and can punish all dissent at will, the absolute negation of rights. But many people don’t want to see it, and so they don’t see it.

ICE does not deny that it's pressuring key eyewitnesses to the shooting of Lorenzo Araujo to agree to deportation without a court hearing, and instead offers no responsive comment at all.

Few reporters have done more to shine light on the shadow docket than New York Times investigative journalist Jodi Kantor. Along with her colleague Adam Liptak, Kantor recently published a number of previously undisclosed memos detailing the shadow docket’s expansion under the Roberts court.

This economic contrast doesn’t only exist with Trump’s war on Iran. It exists on so many other levels in the US. The important thing is that it’s a highly effective narrative. I hope Dems keep on driving home these hypocritical spending contrasts. “We can’t afford it,” is an easily refuted lie.

ICE is engaged in a very large escalation nationwide, with the agency claiming to be hitting record arrest numbers amid the return of quotas. This has gotten very little attention from the media because ICE learned lessons from the chaotic disasters of Kristi Noem’s tenure. Keep a watch.
