Given the very long patient transfer times at ED (and likely to get worse) it may be time to redesign ambulances to enable long term care. A kitchen would be great for patients and crew as would an ensuite. Not so sure about the toilet in the kitchen.

Great research Belinda and colleagues. Although education is a recommended remedy the best education available won’t help paramedics when the case exposure is low and there are infrequent opportunities for recertification in the care of birthing mothers and their babies.

Very. Suspect it’s the causal secret sauce. Less compassion, less pain relief. Suspect also that compassion fatigue is significant in the workforce. Addressing that may have significant flow on affect on quality care more broadly. But how to address it?

It takes a system to save a life in cardiac arrest. I’m proud to have played a small part in this paper in The MJA which shows how survival has incrementally improved in Victoria over 25 years and highlights the value of a registry. If you don’t measure, you can’t improve 🤓 🚑
