I'm getting pretty tired of games media people saying "well most developers use AI and just don't say it", I don't even think it's true and it seems like it's just trying to normalize it so they don't have to feel bad about playing/advertising the AI games. A lot of these people should know better.

Played marathon with a group for the first time today, way different game than playing solo and way better. Started with a few pretty easy runs where we extracted with almost no problems, hit a rut of a few runs where we kept losing quickly, but the last run was fucking sick, hard fought win

Seeing so many former coworkers also still unable to find jobs is brutal. People who have like 10-15+ years of experience looking for work for months or more than a year, it's just crazy.

Listening to Annihilation audio book and it's pretty damn good. I also love Roadside Picnic and the Stalker movie/games, I'm realizing that these kind of "normal(ish) world but there is this one specific fucked up place" style things are some of my favorites.

I'm seriously considering stopping my current game and making something else. Idk how to explain it, but it feels like over time the whole idea has gotten too mushy/bland. I can probably reuse a lot of the systems I have built.... Maybe it's just the current mood, just not feeling it right now 🙃

I think we should go back to AAA games being primarily single player+extra multiplayer modes TBH, gives room for the series to expand, gives some extra design space to experiment with, and if people like the single player they will usually at least try multiplayer.

I think I've found my first actually annoying issue with gaming on Linux (mint if that matters). Sometimes when a video inside of a game is supposed to be playing, instead I just get the multicolor 'test' screen looking thing, I am guessing it has something to do with codecs?
