We live in a Christmas light street. This morning we found a soft toy cat with a Santa hat on our mailbox and were sad someone lost it. This evening I was watering the garden and early visitors to the street spotted the toy and screamed Christmas Cat! The children are cousins with the owner. 1/2

On Wednesday Carmel (ACU) and I ran a workshop at the AARE 2024 Conference. Our participants put their brains to work 🧠 and writing hands into action ✍️ to examine literature about classroom readiness and if it was the same as what we could see or if they had new insights to share.

I hate snakes.

I’m working on a literature review (aka downloading pdfs) for entrepreneurship education in schools. Each time I come across an article that was in my PhD thesis, my heart and head greets them with, “Hello, my old friend”.

Time for a good story. We ordered a cake for a party last Saturday. The person picking it up was running very late. The owner had locked up and started his trip to Canberra when he was called. He went back to the store and left the cake with the shop next door, allowing us to pay during the week.

First I archived my old place account. Then, thanks to a whole lot of help from Redact, I have deleted all my tweets, RTs and likes. I then deactivated my account. I am very sad but it wasn’t the place it used to be.

Last night I scrolled through the accounts I followed on the bird app. Through this process I realised how much what started as a network of educators for me had turned into my news source, particularly for politics. Whatever Bluesky becomes, I hope for a better world.
