I will continue to call on Oxfordshire County Council to provide clarity to families, and to ensure all affected children are given local school places.

I will be meeting Cllr. Gaul next week to ensure the County Council honours the promise to fix this for affected parents and will be seeking reassurances on what is being done to avoid this happening again. If anybody is still affected and needs assistance, please feel free to contact my office.

I was out today with local Councillors in Banbury Ruscote & Hardwick speaking to residents. Lots of positive responses and casework picked up for us to work on for local people.

It was great to welcome Labour's Alison McGovern MP to Banbury Youth Homelessness Project yesterday, showcasing all the hard work they do in the community. I am proud of the work we are doing to prevent young people ending up on the streets through the new National Plan to End Homelessness.

Great news that the Southill Community Energy group in Charlbury are receiving £40,00 in partnership with Great British Energy, for their clean energy project using solar voltaic technology.

I regularly speak to parents who have found difficulties with SEND provision. For too long, the system for supporting SEND children has been over-stretched. This £5 billion injection is therefore welcome news, ensuring that the Council can continue to provide for vulnerable children in our area.

🚨 BREAKING: Zach Polanski has been sent a letter by the Police Federation due to his recent comments about the acquittal of Palestine Action protesters.

Only Labour can defeat Reform in Gorton and Denton. A vote for the Greens or any other party risks them getting in. We are a tolerant, proud, progressive city and we don’t want their divisive brand of politics here.

The Green Party has claimed figures from a projection show “only the Greens can stop Reform” in Gorton and Denton. This is misleading. The model cited suggests Reform and the Greens will increase vote share the most, but currently projects a Labour win.

I have received reports of poor road conditions on the Southam Road, with legitimate safety concerns being raised. Therefore, I have written to Oxfordshire County Council for answers on when it will be resurfaced. I will keep people updated on this. Thank you to everyone who has raised this with me.

Really delighted that Oxfordshire has received a £141.6m spending boost, equivalent to a 21% increase in spending power. It means more money for our high streets, our libraries, our roads and for cleaner streets. Labour is reversing Tory decline and investing in Britain’s renewal.

I was out in Hardwick this afternoon with local Councillors. Very positive response from residents to the extra 5 million appointments delivered by the government since July 2024. Later I visited the Michaelmas Fair in Banbury and tried my hand at "Catch any Dalmatian"!

Cllr Crichton said: "I get that budgets are tight and that more money needs to go further after years of cuts under the last government, but that shouldn't come at the expense of quality. I have written to the County Council to ask that they look to tidy this area up as soon as possible."

Cllr Andrew Crichton, Oxfordshire County Councillor for Banbury Hardwick, has called for roads to be resurfaced properly after resident complaints following recent micro-asphalt works in his division. Photographs show loose pieces of tarmac and chipped edges.

I was criticised for saying at a local hustings last year that the Conservatives were becoming a party of Climate Deniers. North Oxfordshire's Katharine House Hospice is to receive a funding boost of over £100,00 as part of the government's newly announced £75 million boost for hospices to transform end-of-life care with upgrades including specially adapted beds, rooms, and technology.

Yesterday, I welcomed the news that 2017 MORE children in the Banbury constituency will receive Free School Meals from September 2026. This will make a real difference in regards to attainment, behaviour and attendance, and I look forward to seeing that materialise for the children of Banbury.

On Friday, I visited Cherwell Hospital, in Banbury. It was great to speak with staff and patients, and tour the hospital facilities and departments.

Yesterday, I highlighted in the Bus Services Bill debate that every Reform UK MP was absent, as they were during the Strategic Defence Review statement. Reform UK talks, while Labour acts to improve bus services and secure our defences.

I have written to the Liberal Democrat Leader of Oxfordshire County Council to express my disappointment that OCC sent no representative to the Crime and ASB Roundtable I held in Banbury today. I did not even receive a response. This is not good enough and Banbury and our villages deserve better.

This afternoon, I raised a question in the chamber on the important point of veteran homelessness - ensuring the government provides extra support for veterans in Banbury with regards to homelessness.

So Reform UK have opted to put forward, in the area I grew up, someone who thinks that Jimmy Savile was "an innocent man, a real working class hero" as a potential Oxfordshire County councillor?

Great to attend the Stop Tool Theft Parliamentary Reception this morning. This discussed the important issue of tool theft in the trade industry, whereby 1 in 10 tradespeople can expect to have their tools stolen this year.

Banbury MP Sean Woodcock today cast a crucial vote in Parliament in favour of Proportional Representation in local & national elections. The vote was narrowly successful, meaning it will pass to a second reading in January.
