This is excellent and all but I can't help wondering how much this wouldn't have happened if those same people believed what they were being told BEFORE the 2024 election. Or what black and brown people have been telling them all along.

It's wild to watch people like Joe Rogan come to grips that voting for the "mass deportations now" candidate meant voter for a literal war against your non-White neighbors. The entire discussion around the 2024 campaign was so fundamentally unserious it might as well have happened in a fever dream.

If the DEI Office at UCLA hires someone to replace me as Director of Race & Equity, I will eat my hat. The university administration is using my termination as an excuse to cut costs and, important, nix the existence of the only openly anti-racist role in the DEI Office. Such a shame.

Just this week, @johnathanperk.bsky.social was wrongfully terminated by UCLA for saying things that made white racists uncomfortable. Black people cannot opt out of the racist abuse they receive from whites. So as white anti-racists, we can't seek to insulate ourselves either.
