Clearly I have no idea what to say now or how to say it. Only that my blood is boiling, that same blood that has ties to Minnesota soil. My hands are shaking, a rage-fueled tremor that seems to leap across time and miles and miles to be with distant relatives and stand up for our neighbors.

There's a video floating around. I believe it's important to pay witness to what was likely an execution, to see the brutality and hear the shock and horror of witnesses. But if you can't handle that today, or ever, completely understandable. Try to protect yourself. And protect others.

Bookshop has its own app for reading, but what to do about other books? I mean, Kindle is soooo easy. I use Readwise Reader -- just drag and drop the epub files and then my highlights are saved and easily accessible for my research. What do y'all do to avoid Amazon? How do you read your ebooks?

Because I live in Montenegro, I'm limited to ebooks, which some publishers don't offer directly <cough @broadleafbooks.bsky.social cough> Fortunately @bookshop-org.bsky.social has started distributing ebooks . . . slowly but surely. Same prices as the publisher, often less than Amazon!
