My follow-up question would be, "What is an example of goobledygook?" Because one of the things that Mamdani does *really* well is contextualize the issues he thinks are a problem. Mamdani's comms are college-level seminars, on the economy, on trans rights, on landlords.

In a strange twist, about 1/3 of my students have written *favorably* about JIMMY CORRIGAN. I love that big, complicated book so much, but for some reason it routinely falls short for my classes. But this semester, a significant plurality seem to have taken to it, which makes me immensely happy.

Today, my comics class looked at @stillindigo.bsky.social's RED. It's a great little comic about desire, and one of the most accessible examples of lyrical comics. I lined this comic up with a comic-making assessment the students have due at the end of the week.
