If you’re crying too much about people joking about that ceos death, I can only assume you’re in more danger of dying from getting shot due to being a pos than from getting denied healthcare.

Sleeping spots were hard to come by in this patch of milkweeds, some earwigs had to double up.

hydro is cool and all but there are real env costs to it--eg three gorges dam probably made the recent extinctions of yangtze river dolphin and chinese paddlefish inevitable. the local sturgeon also went extinct in the wild but looks like they reintroduced some in 2021

Saw the evening light falling on this wall a few weeks back and took a photo with my phone. A few days ago I was walking by and this time had my camera with me. iPhone and Fujifilm X-T30ii with a 23mm F2 lens.

Lynn's "national IQ" dataset is egregiously flawed; he never described methods for its construction & there is evidence the dataset is systematically biased. Journals should retract papers which have used the data, yet are reluctant to do so, as our

Are there (academic) professional development activities that are not like how to rewrite your cv standing upside down using pomodoro technique? Everything is about branding or hacks, and I get it (desperation to be employed), but it’s still sad.

Getting very urban wildlife pilled. Watching them constantly defy odds in a hostile environment and, sometimes, even thrive, is so moving.

I have been taking an afternoon break to go to this patch of flowers and look for crab spiders. They are so still, it takes some time before you spot them, focusing away from the heavy, chaotic traffic of the flies, bees and wasps.

just noticed this bloomberg map points to tech industry wealth as the reason why tamil nadu doesn't vote bjp. very important for their audience to avoid learning that parts of india have their own histories of social revolution

Hamas upon hearing of my condemnation: Oh no. We have lost Sridhar. We must change our actions going forward. We were hoping he would avoid voicing his disapproval, so we could continue in our misguided ways. Israel upon hearing of it: Why have you not double condemned Hamas? It's been ten minutes.
