#W ZIBAHKHANA (aka Hell's Ground, 2007), a Pakistani take on TCM, but swapping chainsaws for more exotic weapons & its own take on Leatherface. It's pretty short, mostly predictable but still fun with lots & lots of blood & guts. And zombies, for some reason. #filmsky #horrorsky

#ACenturyOfCinema...ENDS, 2025! Brad Pitt stars as Tom Cruise in F1: MAVERIC. I kid, don't get me wrong, I LOVED this but its a complete mashup of Top Gun/Days Of Thunder. It looks fantastic throughout, and it has the satisfying, crowd-pleasing, fist pump moments at the end. Pure popcorn. #filmsky

BROOKLYN 45 takes place 80 years ago, on Dec. 27, 1945, during this often-sad, cold space of time between Christmas and New Years. Watch it on @shudder.com, rent it on Prime Video or Apple TV, or catch the black and white edition on Blu-Ray (the first 90 seconds of which I'm including here)!

#ACenturyOfCinema continues, 2022. I'm a fan of the Detective Dee films I've seen so far, but I feel DETECTIVE DEE AND THE GHOST SHIP might be a tv movie; it feels smaller in scope than others. Dee arrives at a coastal town to meet his betrothed but finds scaly monsters abducting locals. Still fun!

#ACenturyOfCinema continues, 2021. THE CROSSING (Flukten Fra Katterat) is a bit similar to The 12th Man as it also focuses on an escape attempt from #WW2 occupied Norway to Sweden. The journey here isn't as prolonged, albeit still dangerous. Short in length, this is a compelling cat-and-mouse tale.

#ACenturyOfCinema continues, 2020. In SCARE ME, a would-be writer called Fred meets successful author Fanny in a remote cabin rental park. During a power-cut, they challenge each other to come up with a scary story, but friendly antagonism becomes something darker. The dialogue is sharp and fun.

#ACenturyOfCinema continues, 2018. The Korean film BURNING is definitely a slow-burn thriller. Be prepared to hang out with two guys & a girl for a long time before a mystery develops, leading to some amateur detective work & a very enigmatic finale. It took me a while but I ended up liking it!

These German Edgar Wallace adaptations are brilliant and bizarro, and often involve killers in KKK style robes and masks committing very lurid murders. Haven't seen this one yet, so its going on my watchlist!
