I'm sure people compared this to Pulse in that it deals with similar themes of societal disconnection. Where Pulse sees people reduced to ghosts, Cloud asks if anything is real outside of its tangible value. One to revisit, for sure. Oh, it's from 2024. Kurosawa has been on a forty year streak. 📽

Oh, this was good. The focus is on the drama, with multiple angles converging. And when they do, it's quite satisfying. The style is very much of an arthouse movie. The editing and soundtrack are charting their own path. Free of having to live in Argento's shadow lets these '60s gialli breathe! 📽

Very telling that he watched Bad Bunny and not the alt halftime show with Kid Rock - did that thing even happen?

I said something similar after watching Kendrick Lamar's halftime show at last year's #Superbowl but as a cis white guy in my 50s who'd never heard his music, Bad Bunny knocked it out of the park. Didn't know a word of what he was singing but understood the heart of it & floored by the production.

So glad I wasn't drinking last night. Lack of sleep is bad enough...
