Adults losing their sh*t can be one of the biggest triggers for CPTSD survivors. It can send us straight into emotional flashback to see an adult-- whether we know or have anything to do w/ them or not-- melting down or lashing out at a vulnerable person or animal.

CPTSD survivors who had the experience in childhood of our caretakers intentionally triggering us, often to justify punishing (i.e., abusing) us, are in particular need of adult relationships where expectations are clear & communication is frequent & transparent.
