Finally watched Godzilla Minus Color tonight. WORTH IT. It was a different experience for me in a few ways. I was watching an import, so no English menus or subtitles. I wasn't lost because I've seen the movie with subtitles before. But this allowed me to focus more on the film and performances.

I have been bouncing around both sides of the Hudson River trying to buy a specific lawnmower for the price it was advertised online. I can get it delivered for $519. If I want to drive it home myself today, it's $569. Lowes refuses to price match. I've put more than $50 of time and effort in.

Finally going to replace the lawnmower. Finished comparison shopping tonight. Tomorrow, if it's in stock, I can pick one up locally. The old one is rusted through and has been a hazard going on two years. I haven't replaced it before now because I'm bad at both spending and maintenance.

COMIC: Zelda Record Session

Rumiko Takahashi is the GOAT of Manga. Finally started Urusei Yatsura and I'm 20-ish chapters in. So far, I think I like it more than Ranma 1/2 and Inu Yasha. The material is familiar, but you get complete stories in every issue. She thinks of a gag and deftly makes it the whole issue.

Casually trying to dream up a simple framework for making magic items in D&D. There really isn't a lot of easy 1:1 for spells, class features and items. That doesn't bother me much, but it does mean we want to be a little looser in how we make stuff. Also, I want to leave room for weird.

Now that I have a little more time, I'm considering changing Linux distributions on my home PC. Don't get me wrong, the Bazzite install has been working flawlessly. But I'm still dual booting with Windows because I have a wired VR headset that requires SteamVR.

I used to feel that my brain has some weird time dialation thing going on. Like, there are bad days where I get a lot done and good days where I think I'm killing it, but output it low. Sure, tasks vary, but work.... I gotta remember not to consider just work that's associated with work tasks.

Believe it or not, I stressed all day over my dentist appt and now that I'm here, the power went out before I got in the chair.

I have been re-watching the “Welcome to Demon School” anime, to refresh for new episodes. It is not high art, and can be wildly uneven at times, but it’s fun magical school stuff without THE TAINT. Rewatching has revealed something fun.

I read quite a few of them published under Dark Horse Comics. Probably the Tales of the Jedi series. Modern-day, that Darth Vader series that covered between A New Hope and Empire was pretty good at times.

I am generelly against making prequels instead of telling new stories and Star Wars has been no exception. Phanotm Menace needed more time to cook. The tone -shift from Phantom to its sequals are too great. It doesn't feel liek it belongs.

Of course, I ranted about a Star Wars RPG the day before Star Wars Day. Ah well..

Anyway, I think it's time to watch Deathstalker. I hear fun things!

I finally picked up Batman Arkham Knight because it was cheap and I was told it's the best of the series. I didn't make it an hour in. I have always fundamentally disagreed with the series in the presentation of the world, but have somehow muddled through.

Another quick brain dump before I move on to the next chore. We stopped into the library yesterday to check in on the librarian, who has been at odds with the board. We were immediately greeted by a board member who thanked us for showing up to the emergency session and for speaking up.

Here's a good one for creators, especially new GMs for RPGs. We love our fictions and lore, but remember not to overburden yourself. Be willing to start small and build from there.

With some free time opened up I am (hopefully) working myself back up to resuming my Star Wars Savage World hack.

Anyone else look at Steam Hardware surveys when they come up? Apparently 1.59% have a VR headset and over 50% of those are using Meta Quests/Oculus HMDs. Makes me wonder how much smaller the base would be if Meta wasn't so committed to dominating the market by losing money on every unit sold.

I'm not usually one to say "Pray for me" but I think I've decided to show up at the local library for an "emergency meeting" tonight. There's a rumor going around that the board has considered stopping support for some childrens programs. There's no official meeting scheduled tonight (I checked).

I'm always happy to see people give Milestone Comics some love. It's a sad story, but it comes form a good place. Also, the Static/Batman Beyond crossover comic has been pretty good! I like seeing a potential future for Dakota City in the DCU. Maybe it'll do well enogh to make more?

Also,l just found out this week that the new library director wants to end all children's programs there. WTF? I don't even have kids and I plan to stop by on Sat to see what's up. We are a small community and there literally is no place else right now.

I haven't done anything VR for a bit. I'm not working two jobs anymore, so why not tonight?

I'm not a Simpsons person, but I know some of you are and Hulk writes well.
