I generally know better than to take personally inflammatory rhetoric, but this particular statement angers and disgusts me. From daycare to post-grad, teachers hold this country together. Everything—everything—is demanded of educators in the U.S., and so little returned. How dare they.

It is possible to decry political violence as a dangerous force that destroys innocent lives *without* rewriting a shooting victim’s ideology. Claiming that Kirk’s vision for America has any place in morally conscientious discourse tacitly endorses the violence at the core of his worldview.
