For decades, @jfrejnyc.bsky.social has shown what politics can be: courageous, collaborative, and grounded in the struggle for justice. It was an honor to celebrate them on Wednesday night alongside my friend @bradlander.bsky.social.

A tipping point has been reached. Gaza is now starving to death in front of the whole world. Those who facilitated and justified this abomination were given ample warning for 21 months. You have no excuses, and nowhere to hide: you will be held to account for what you've done.

I saw so many people talking about how Mamdani and Lander were clearly running because they love their city and want to make life better there, while Cuomo seems to hate and fear it, and that feels like the key piece of this campaign that could be replicable by progressives everywhere

Rümeysa Öztürk has finally been ordered released. She has been unlawfully detained for more than six weeks in an ICE facility in Louisiana, more than 1,500 miles away from Somerville. This is a victory for Rümeysa, for justice, and for our democracy.

I’ve been so upset about the Mahmoud Khalil situation all day — it isn’t business as usual for the White House to instruct Ice to revoke the green card (!!) of a Columbia graduate for their political views. For me this’ll be the moment we tipped from authoritarianism light to authoritarianism heavy.

This extreme escalation is an egregious violation of first amendment rights. Now is the moment to speak out and oppose this as fiercely and loudly as possible.

The antisemites in the White House will never be an authority on Jewish safety. They do not care about Jewish safety. This attack on Columbia's funding is about consolidating power, punishing dissent & encouraging others in power to do the same, and cracking down on free speech & higher education.

It was freezing last night. Without safe shelters available—let alone actual housing—many homeless people take to the subways in search of a warm place to sleep. This is an unspeakable horror. We do not know the victim’s name, but may her memory be a blessing.

Genocide in Gaza is ongoing and worsening. When we run out of words to describe the atrocities, studies like this remind us of the unconscionable impacts. The whole world is watching & nothing we’ve done so far has worked to #StopArmingIsrael. It’s hard not to despair but we have to keep fighting 💔
