Finally looking like an actually adult now 4 years into T.

In Residency on night shifts sometimes I would stand in the quiet of “The President’s Hospital”, reflecting on the U.S. Army values. I joined the Army because I believed in those values and I still do. I left the Army, in part, because I saw leaders who could not uphold those values.

Last day in uniform. Officially done with the Army.

Six months apart. Not supported vs Supported. Miserable vs Happy. Still Trans.

Deeply, deeply disappointed by this as a Peds Endo fellow who wants to do trans care. Actions like these narrow educational opportunities as well as cause suffering for trans adolescents receiving care and their supportive families.

Now on the annual medical survey. This pic will be a sign in the future of the awful discrimination of trans people in the military. Tell the truth and get kicked out for being yourself. Lie and get saddled with guilt and fear for being found out, simply because you wish to continue your service.

Just got my first week schedule for fellowship and I am vibrating with excitement. I FINALLY get to start Peds Endo fellowship after wanting to do this for the past 6 years.
