I know this game is kinda chud-coded in public discourse (inaccurate to its actual content IMO, but not unwarranted either given some of the edgy marketing), but it *is* really good. I need the new Elden Ring armors and weapons NOW. Especially the Knight of Ides' set, looks like a great compromise between the basic Knight set and the very ornate ones.

Reco of the day is Salt and Sanctuary, a very nice 2D Souls-y game. Good art and atmosphere, and unlike Hollow Knight it includes the dress-up aspect (a major part of why I like these games).

Any oomfs who have played Dragon's Dogma? I'm curious about it because the game is apparently known for being unfinished as fuck and divisive in its approach to storytelling, but it also gets praised a lot. A bit like DS1, but of course that's not a guaranteed marker of quality

My biggest criticism of DAO so far is that the armor material system makes it a bit hard to have a good-looking armor set in the early game. Like, I have a steel chestpiece and a merchant has a matching helm... In grey iron, which is completely mismatched.

This evening I made zero progress in Dragon Age because I very quickly picked a bad habit from my SWTOR days back up: restarting convos because I wasn't fully satisfied with a dialogue option. I'll try not to do it too much lol, but I do need to get a sense of how the dialogue flows first.

I think I just had an illumination. I was preparing for an online test as part of this year's formation. I had already resolved not to do the rest due to a lack of motivation, but this was an independent module that I could complete on its own. Today was the last time I could attempt this.

So yeah I did do that. Very interesting because the basic gameplay is structurally identical to SWTOR's, just not hampered by loads of MMO slop features. Went for the City Elf origin, because I like killing rapists. Heavy stuff, but I like it so far
