This book is one of finest I’ve ever read (yes, I said “ever”) There’s gold out there in the writing world and the independents are currently the ones finding it. Rónán Hession is an example of that treasure.

Every year, for the last 7 years, the @theclpe.bsky.social have not only researched the presence of characters of colour in children’s books, they’ve also offered tips and guidance on how to create *and* how to curate representative bookshelves. These from the 2019 report⬇️⬇️

It was our second London Day tour of Ebbs & Flows with #SarahSurgey yesterday & we were in Richmond. Love a plan that comes together well! We visited 200 children, 2 schools & had a planning meeting. Such a fantastic day, so much positivity & love for books & reading 🥰📚

Absolutely love meeting school dogs 🐶📖. This one was as amazing as he was enormous. Heard how he has connected with so many children. Even a boy whose parents would have to cross the road with him to avoid passing a dog in the street was now happily reading to him. 🥰 Any more school dogs out there?
