Interesting that people don't believe I read five #MGLit books last night, but some "top reviewers" on Goodreads claim to read about twenty books a day. Don't think they write reviews.

I could spend more time posting on social media, but instead I read five books last night and wrote five reviews this morning. Seeing what's on here, I feel okay about my life choices. Also, I can't post once the contract day starts at 7:30 a.m.!

Calling it for 2025. Taking a little break, and hoping to be more motivated in 2026. (The average number of pages was 209, down a bit, and yes, I really do read-- and review-- a large number of #MGLit books.)

In my house, we all like to READ books on Christmas, but don't need to OWN them. The exceptions-- two murder mysteries from my best friend, the new Judith Viorst book of poetry, and Dave Barry's CLASS CLOWN, since Mr. Barry was so nice when I fangirled HARD at the Smithsonian.

This is the only Eager title I kept in my last round of reading. Do still love it.

I just really want to know if Ms. Martin did the quilt! How cool that she sews.

@carolinebcooney @DelacortePress HIT THE ROAD (2006) holds up well, but is so clearly a YA book of the time. It's really more about the 86-year-old grandmother and her friends, but the story is well balanced. This one I'll hand to kids after break.

Wow. HARRIET THE SPY (1964) does not hold up well. I was most shocked by her sneaking into a random strangers house and spying on a woman in her bedroom from the dumbwaiter. Has anyone reread this recently? Thoughts?
