Right, because I've now seen misunderstandings of this enough times that it's got me worried that people don't know this - transgender people in the UK are protected by the Equality Act 2010 under the category of gender reassignment. *That* was not under discussion today and hasn't changed.

Delighted this output from our @leedsteaching.bsky.social fellowship is published. We were very fortunate to get two years of funding to engage critically with the notion of global citizenship.

Apparently he wants a government of national unity including the people he is telling off like small children. That’s obviously going to work out….

Torn between delight at how magical @universityofleeds.bsky.social campus is looking, and plotting a campaign for More Sparkle on the Western Campus

This semester has been amongst the most exhausting and frustrating in my nearly 25 years of working with disabled students in #UKHE 😩. The changes to #DSA, which are adding massively to casework, are very much at the centre of the reasons why. Knowing this would happen doesn't make it any better.

You might think this is a rare occurrence...but it's really the norm. Steps up to buildings, ramps at the wrong pitch (but hey, they look nice), accessible entrances but no push button doors in the building, reception desks with no lowered section, lecture theatres with no accessible seating...

Heart sore. Again. In 2016 I felt galvanised. Now I am just resigned, to be honest, and fighting despair. Solidarity to all those who will suffer- we need to find ways to help
