Following a report on @drjogrady.bsky.social's NEC update, we want to clarify that all dispute issues remain unresolved: ❌ trade union victimisation ❌ failure to negotiate a hybrid working policy ❌ failure to adequately deal with safety issues ❌ breach of recognition agreement & other policies.

ASOS which is "work in the same way you’ve done for years" is not irresponsible. It's protecting our members until a fair & equitable hybrid policy is agreed. UCU SMT then deducting 100% of daily pay from staff taking ASOS & undermining its own policy? Now that’s irresponsible.

Being disabled shouldn’t mean you’re on a lower wage, or that you’re afraid to ask for support at work because it could hit you financially. Having a reasonable adjustment should never lead to a pay cut. But this is what’s happening to some UCU staff right now. Short 🧵

NEU staff are on strike today and tomorrow. We can’t beleive it’s come to this. Striking as a trade union worker requires an absurd amount of things to go wrong — because you spend everyday making the union you love the kind of organisation people want to join - you only ever want to see it win.

42 days into a 55-day “meaningful consultation” and we still have no actual job descriptions. Our employer created 9 generic base “profiles” for over 65 highly specialised roles. We’re still waiting for actual job descriptions.

*ACTION ALERT* 100% of union representatives in scope of the restructure put at risk of redundancy by @itfglobalunion.bsky.social management. Are we all incredibly unlucky or is this a potential case of union-busting by a union?

It’s not just us! We’re sending massive solidarity today to Unite @ NEU, on strike for two days over a restructure being carried out without meaningful consultation. And also to @uniteitf.bsky.social who are facing major job cuts as well as dealing with yet another union-busting union employer.

Our branch has declared no confidence in UCU’s SMT to protect the well-being of staff, nor in its commitment to improving industrial relations. With the increasing victimisation of our reps, and SMT now repeatedly imposing changes in working conditions and policies, our dispute continues.
