The irony is that all those assholes who complained about protected bike lanes going in are gonna be fine with this.

Why bomb Venezuelan boats? Why are there so many Venezuelan migrants? Why the obsession with Tren de Aragua? Why are we sending the CIA into Venezuela? Why did the US collapse the Venezuelan economy with sanctions? Why is Chevron propping up the Venezuelan economy and supporting a dictatorship?

In Chicago we have alders that represent 50 different community areas. I went to my Alderwoman’s office this morning to ask about her silence on the ICE activity in our ward. After a poor exchange I wanted to share the follow-up letter I sent:

This is the biggest attack on free speech since the McCarthy era but it also has significantly less popular consensus behind it than the second Red Scare. It's being done on behalf of a minority faction led by the most unpopular president in modern history. Organizing against this can win.

In Chicago, public roads are used to store private vehicles en masse—sometimes even for free. And yet my local bike lane has oil stains from the cars that regularly use it as overflow parking.

Public parks are for all—housed and unhoused. But also when a park turns into an housing encampment, the park is no longer for all. It’s ok to balance that complexity.

When I see people online, even in jest, suggest that people living in Republican-controlled states should be abandoned because of their politicians, I feel a deep heartache. New York CREATED Donald Trump and none of y’all are ever talk about it the way you disparage Alabama or Mississippi.

They should really just pitch protected bike lanes as “bike free” lanes for cars so we can get the neighborhood NIMBYs on board

Being against the Palestinian genocide—implemented by the Israel settler state and funded by the US—is irreproachable. Being convinced to attack the Capitol because of election lies—implemented by the President and funded by billionaire dark money—is insurrection.

mRNA vaccines are the biggest breakthrough in disease prevention and treatment in decades. We're curing *cancer* with mRNA vaccines. To eliminate research in this field, at this moment, is fall-of-the-empire-grade stuff.

In the “roaring twenties,” AI Capone ruled an empire of crime in America: bribery, grifting, robbery, “protection” rackets, and murder. And it seemed that law enforcement couldn’t touch it.

Look, folks, this is it. The entire ballgame. Either we're a Republic of laws & the Constitution, or we have a dictator. This is fascism, & the impeachment vote should be happening today. Every single university president in the country should be out, in front of microphones, condemning this.

There’s nothing “unfair” about trans athletes in women’s sports. It’s sports—it’s just for fun. What’s unfair is creating a “gender apartheid” where a class of people can’t participate in society.

Imagine DOGE opens your mail and finds your household electric bill. To eliminate this cost, they burn your house down without warning. Then they total up the bills that, as a homeless person, you will never again pay. On its website, DOGE boasts about the money it has saved you.
