Means testing inevitably costs more money than it saves eliminating "fraud", and denies people who should be eligible due to bureaucratic issues, misfiled forms, errors, etc. Same goes for drug testing, where 9 times out of 10, a spouse/relative has a stake in the no-bid contracted testing company.

I think what a lot of people chaffe against when it comes to a universal safety net (whether that's health, education, income, food, housing) is....who do you punish and castigate as lay abouts when everyone is afforded comfortable living standards as a right.

The most frustrating thing about my whole experience with this abscess and my gp... Is that if the ARPN had just said, I'm referring you to the wound clinic...this could've been done either on Day 1 or at least a week ago...instead she made it seem like the abscess wasn't ready....

The worst part of this whole skin abscess ordeal is it does truly knock me out, but occasionally I get these breaks in the pain and fog, and can focus, but then, by the time I get my work together and ready to go...BOOM...cattle prod to the shoulder, joint pain, I gotta pee then I'm exhausted again.

The worst part about this damned abscess thing...is I can block out all the pain but I still can't....fucking focus. So I feel good, but I can't work because every time I look at anything it just doesn't....do....anything....So I end up laying on the couch watching youtube videos.

Gorgone Checkerspots are often overlooked due to the completely overwhelming presence of the infinitely ubiquitous and variable Pearl Crescent. However, if you're lucky the underwing of the Gorgone gives it away with it's incredibly complicated patterning giving a jazzy look.

The Eastern Comma is not an uncommon species but it is often hard to detect. Named after the underwing marking, the rest of the underwing presents a perfect leaf-like look to it. The upper wing presents as a collage of orange again giving the impression of a fallen leaf. #Butterfly #Wildlife

One of my favorite Gossamer wings out there. The Juniper Hairstreak. Named for its host plant the Eastern Red Cedar (Juniperus virginiana), but could also be named for the fact that its color and patterning are effective camouflage making it look like a part of a juniper. #butterfly #wildlife

Zebra Swallowtails are typically hard to find where I am, though not the hardest, we are on the northern fringe of their range as such most people go to specific locations to find them. Though in theory they should be anywhere where paw-paw grow in abundance. #butterflies #wildlife
