29 years ago today, I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at 14 years old. I will always remember my first two thoughts upon being told I must inject insulin for life to survive: 1) my life will never again be the same; 2) I need a cigarette 😂🤣 The more things change…..

Chuck Schumer once told diabetic patient advocates that “insulin prices will not be capped while I’m in office. Not over my dead body.” Schumer can fight - but only when it benefits his billionaire donors at the expense of the rest of us.

If your body makes insulin for free but you believe diabetics should pay hundreds of dollars for insulin to stay alive, congratulations - you’re an ableist asshat. Insulin should be free to diabetics like it is for everyone else. Happy Wednesday!
