I'm still not here! It's hard for me to maintain a visible presence in these times and you may have forgotten my existence, but I'm not doing too badly. Lately I've been on Discord, but I've also been on IRC (pyrex on FurNet, SlashNET) and Mastodon (pyrex at dragon dot style)

Still not really here -- having some mental health problems. Can anyone give me good advice?

Re "Sites that aren't bsky": I'm currently considering giving dreamwidth a try. But I suspect most of you wouldn't like it and should not go there. My main site is still run on Wordpress and I don't update it often -- I need to do something about that.

Haskell solved its performance problem by writing a lot of blogposts about how Haskell is "surprisingly fast." Which is true -- it's also surprisingly slow, and in general Haskell performance is a surprise. (... which is kind of the problem.)

I'm excited to hear that VRChat is building an age verification feature! I have positive feelings about their ID verification partner, Persona. (However, I would like to hear details about how they're securing this, I don't think Persona's API inherently helps them limit their own access to PII.)
