The point of due process is to CONSTRAIN THE GOVERNMENT itself. Full stop. It’s not a prize to be handed out. The innocent/guilt of an individual is moot.

Either the courts get to decide who is a “violent criminal” or “gang member”, or Donald Trump gets to decide. That choice determines whether we are a Republic governed by laws or an autocracy living under a ruler.
