When travelling in England the majority of your intended trains will be delayed or cancelled. The failure of privatisation is embedded into the everyday as there has been no investment. The stripping of public transport in service of shareholders who don't use the very trains they profit from.

Great video by @theverge.com about Microsoft's marketing of CoPilot. It demonstrates the failure of interacting with CoPilot and how it requires labour and literacy that is often hidden (i.e. knowing the correct prompts). But also it shows how Big Tech are capitalising on imaginaries of Ai.

Musk is inciting violence on London's streets.Tommy Robinson is financed by US tech bros. These are all very direct attempts to destabilise the British state. Starmer needs to stand up to this. A government that doesn't defend its country's values against these blatant attacks is not doing its job.

Fortunate to have attended the #JennySaville exhibition at the #NationalPortraitGallery. Her work is kinetic, and in dialogue with the passive nudes of the classical painters. For me, it also emphasised the importance of Gender Studies in a time when Gender Studies courses are being stripped back.

Skims profits off controversy, and I agree with the commentary this so-called "facial shapewear" contributes to the Ozempic culture of slenderness and control of the feminine body. But also it made me think of the book Fearing the Black Body: The Racial Origins of Fat Phobia by Sabrina Strings.

Unfortunately today's #WimbledonFinal was hard to watch, you could feel the pressure of the centre court getting to Amanda Anisimova. Iga Swiatek was the better player on the day but it was uncomfortable to see Anisimova so defeated.

In the mid 2010s I was working as a copywriter and writing the odd piece for indie magazines before resigning to study for a MA in Gender Studies. Since recently completing my PhD, I have been yearning to return to writing commissions, in particular cultural critiques on tech elites & masculinity.

I'm on an Avanti West train and the shop announcement was increasingly comical, eventually everyone erupted into laughter. "There is a power outrage in the shop" pause "I can't serve hot drinks" pause "The fridge with the sandwiches is off" pause "So they are room temperature"

Grateful I was able to attend the Aesop Queer Library. Through Pride their Soho store giveaway books by LGBTQ+ authors for free. I picked Stag Dance by Torrey Peters. I've been a lover of her work since first reading her little Novella 'Infect your friends and loved ones'. #AesopQueerLibrary
