Why I prefer formative action over FA. Too often, “formative assessment” turns into assessment without grades and then we focus on tools. Formative action is about how you ACT on the information. What am I curious about? What misconceptions do I expect? How will I respond when I see them?

The man who gave us the free internet is fighting to reclaim it from tech giants. Bluesky offers what he envisioned - user control, not corporate manipulation. Educators: are you here? What would convince others to come back to give it a proper go?

@valentinadevid.bsky.social making it clear that these formative action processes need to be top-and-tailed with a) ensuring pupils have a really clear sense of what good looks like, and b) a focus on how meaningful and useful feedback is given.
