1/2) The Republican budget is the culmination of an extreme right takeover, aided and abetted by a Democratic establishment unwilling to make billionaires pay their fair share.

Life is already too expensive for New Yorkers. The passage of this bill sets us back even further. Costs will soar even higher, crushing folks struggling to make ends meet. All for the wealthiest to get a tax cut. Shameful act by Republicans.

It’s clear the current economy isn’t working for everyday New Yorkers. We need to invest in people-first economic development. That means raising the minimum wage and taxing the ultra-wealthy so that people and families can work their way up into the middle class and beyond.

61 years ago today, the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was signed into law. It reminds us that progress is possible when we stand together for justice. Let this day serve as a reminder to continue fighting for and protecting our rights and freedoms.

Last night, I endorsed @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social. While we don’t agree on every issue, we share a deep commitment to tackling the affordability crisis that’s hurting New Yorkers. Democrats should be able to agree that making New York more affordable is a fight worth taking on together.

Today marks 10 years since Obergefell v. Hodges, a milestone in the fight for marriage equality. We celebrate love, pride, and progress, but the fight isn’t over. I’m proud to stand with the LGBTQIA+ community today and every day.
