Weird 3D #Gamedev question: when designing 3D environments for your game, how do you put it all together in your engine? Do you design it all it Blender or a similar tool, before exporting the whole thing, or do you assemble it piecemeal in your game?

I'm so tired of being sick all the time. Especially on my days off. 😞

Slowly making progress on 3D stuff with Godot engine. Today's experiment involved staging elements to go in different rooms. Kind of janky, but I learned some new things today. There, uh, were supposed to be walls, but that part didn't work with the Blender export! 😅

Reminders, calendar, notes. Use them all as frequently as possible. I never miss an appointment because my phone screams at me until the due date. Also: do your homework early. It's easy to push off, procrastinate, and forget about, but if you just do the thing immediately, it's easy.

Well, this isn't exactly a huge surprise. While I understand why OnlyOffice is mad, apparently they're not very good at working with the community, so a fork makes sense.

Today we're also introducing surf.social to let anyone surf the whole social web including over 130K feeds that bring together people, podcasts, YouTube channels, newsletters, blogs and images for whatever you're into.

I've managed to fix about 80% of what was wrong with my game's camera system. It's smoother and cleaner now, but I have to fix quirks transitioning from TPS view to FPS view and back. Right now, the camera jumps to the middle of the character's chest when spring_pivot_arm.spring_length = 0 ... 🤔

Jesus, the White House app is a dumpster fire.

Two things that give me headaches: defining behavior of an all-NAND circuit, and defining behaviors for methods in a Linked List. 🥵 It's so easy to get your wires crossed!

Doing some unfun gamedev work by slowly debugging my camera system in Godot. I figure if I fix it now, I won't have to deal with it later. The main thing is that I'm trying to do a third person AND first person camera. Third person works fine, but the other mode is like beer goggles.

Our beagle boy is still with us. It's been six months from his initial cancer diagnosis, and we're grateful for every extra day we have with him. Toby is still full of energy and attitude. He has managed to outlive initial expectations, but his condition could change at any time.

Happy Trans Day of Visibility! It's a very fucked up and scary time to be in the US right now, but know that you are not alone. There are so many people that recognize you as being valid and deserving of gender euphoria and maximum rights. This regime will not stand forever, they cannot erase you.

My kids is trans. We face the real possibility they will have to leave the country to live their life with full rights and freedom. I will never stop fighting for them but it would be helpful if I didn’t have to fight so many people allegedly on my side. So, you know, happy TDOV.

The AI discourse is giving me a warm and fuzzy feeling, because it makes me realize this space is not that different than the Fediverse. 😈
