Finding supportive and helpful mental health resources as someone who is trans and/or non-binary can be really challenging. I genuinely hope that my books can offer some of that support for you. You absolutely deserve to be recognised and understood fully.

I kicked off 2026 with some fantastic books! I particularly loved diving into Piranesi by Susanna Clarke; it’s a brilliant adventure, and the main character is great company. I also found myself exploring books about different kinds of grief this January, which was (maybe surprisingly) comforting.

As well as a couple of non-fiction projects that I have in the works, one of my plans for this year is to noodle about with some fiction. I’m looking forward to flexing my writing muscles in different ways this year, and I’ve been excited to write the story that I have in mind for a long time!

On this Trans Day of Remembrance, I would have you remember that there are trans people alive who need your action now, not your reflective words later. Remembering us is not enough.

Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance, and it’s been an extremely painful seven months without Lucy. I do what I can to keep her memory and her dreams alive, to bring justice to her and to the trans community (especially Black trans women), and to fight the systems that continuously harm us.

Queer Minds is a book of interviews with LGBTQ+ experts of all kinds to speaking in their own words. When I set out to create the book, my goal wasn’t to write just another book about queer people - it was to curate a book that included as many of us I could.
