I turned 50 this week and when I see the number written down it looks really old. But I don’t feel old. I still feel like me in my twenties (if a bit more tired). So I’m reframing it all as lucky, and am determined to achieve all of my dreams - or at least try my hardest! Watch this space…

I have a new book coming out! Five Things I Love About You is out on 24th April and is a story about love, fate and searching for happiness.

I love writing love stories of all kinds but I’d say this is the most unashamedly romantic book I’ve ever written. What’s your favourite love story?

I love writing books, but I ADORE writing these two words. This book, my second thriller, has been a tricky one to write with several false starts and a couple of pauses to replan along the way. But this evening, finally, I hit 83561 words and it feels brilliant!

I’m trying to get my book finished this week so of course I’m going to spend most of it faffing around on social media….

The thing I love best about the period between Christmas and new year is that I sleep SO much! It’s 9.24am and I’ve only been awake for 10 mins. As a menopausal woman this feels like a Christmas miracle!

I finished structural edits for the next Clare Swatman book last night. Today, I’ve been trying to get my head back into my next thriller because I need to write at least another 10k words before Christmas. My brain hurts

I’ve just realised that my very first thriller is out THIS WEEK, and it’s fine I’m TOTALLY CALM ABOUT IT! 🤣🤣

This speaks volumes about the current state of the book trade. A serious reality check - and highlights the invaluable role of smaller publishers.
