Well. I finished THE SEVEN HUSBANDS OF EVELYN HUGO. And... okay? ATMOSPHERE, this was not. I didn't hate it, but no one landed with me. And the pacing at the very end was jarring when compared to the rest of the book. In a "Shit, I need to wrap this up!" kinda way.

Honestly? Celebrity weddings do nothing for me, but if this one helped someone find a little bit of joy in this hellscape we're all currently stuck in... good for them. We have to find the happy wherever we can these days, and I refuse to be a killjoy over something that's not harming anyone.

Things like this 👇 are a big reason why I keep my books set in modern day. It's not that I wouldn't want to do the research, it's that I probably wouldn't know what needed to be researched. Because while history interests me, I'm not a historian.
