For capitalism to keep operating it has to convince you that you are thing that ends at the boundaries of your body rather than a flow connected to uncountable others. After all, you can't really profit off extracting from yourself.

Governments ignore the science and prefer to just focus on climate change as an energy transition: as a spur to kick start a still completely unsustainable capitalism. We’re in breach of multiple planetary boundaries and they - and we - are deeply interdependent. It’s one hell of a category error.

This is great research! It shows with data that a lot of what we hear about the "unpopularity" of radical socioecological ideas is not about people, but rather the lack of popularity with mainstream policymakers and market agents. There's a lot of ground on which to build!
