ChatGPT’s slogan should be “the safe space to answer allllllll your stupid questions.” Cuz… it is. I sent my hour commute home in voice mode asking all my stupid questions about a tricky topic I’ve never really understood and lo and behold… I FINALLY GET IT. Yet another game-changing moment.

Podcasts used to be my go-to on commutes. I just had an hour drive down to our Santana Row office and instead spent the hour verbally brainstorming with ChatGPT. The craziest part is (and this is the second time this has happened to me) when my ‘chat’ got interrupted by Google Maps instructions…

So my sister who lives 4 hours away is playing boggle with her kids, and invited me to join in from afar by just sending me a pic of the roll. I ofc crushed it, but when we were done I realized hey here’s a good test for GenAI… So far, big fail from both ChatGPT and Perplexity.

Soooo what’s the protocol here. Are we naming our AI buddies or what? I was driving and ofc had a question to ask ChatGPT so I used the audio feature, which went over my car stereo. It sounded *so realistic* my 3yo asked “who was that mommy?” To which I said… um… my AI friend?

Just me or is there something messed up about AI responses citing paywalled articles as sources? Annoying as a consumer. But, on the other hand I can hope that the AI cos start to pay these news sources for what they’re scraping, and ofc I guess I hope some consumers are inspired to subscribe…

Ahhhhhhhh I just copy-pasted a transcript from a 30-min YouTube video which inserts a timestamp about every ~15 words. Plopped it in to our GenAI tool, told it to remove all timestamps & unnecessary line breaks, and differentiate between each speaker. In about 3 seconds I was off to the races 🔥🔥🔥

Wild to see that it’s only been 3 months that I’ve been using GenAI tools in my everyday work and just today I had the thought “man how did I even work without it before?”

Last weekend, I OH two 8-year olds discussing if Grok 4 really is the smartest model in the world. One asked how you measure that. The other said “there are tests you make them take and Grok outperformed all the other models.” Totally normal 8-year old talk.

Again the “feeling old” this is all moving too fast — my first interpretation of this headline was they missed it as in they blinked and didn’t even know 4o was out, let alone 5. Nope, they just liked 4o better. 👵🏻
