Last night the club held its AGM and New Commitee was elected to run the club for the coming season starting in early September. The club will be back in September with brand new season public lectures and plenty more events for all members

Last night was final public lecture of current season. First we would thank all who came to give fantastic talks about various Astronomy topics. Thank you to all who attended and participated throughout the season. We will be back in September with brand new season.

These amazing photos of Earth and the far side of the moon were taken by Artemis 2. Artemis II is now the furthest that humans have travelled from Earth.

Last night at around 11:20pm.NASA launched Artemis 2 in Earth 🌍 orbit. Artemis 2 will continue on to moon and then back to Earth again over next few days. Congratulations NASA. Go Artemis

Club members traveled to Dunsink Observatory this week for a club outing. The club organises outings to different venues once every year.

On the 18th February as sun is setting.It will be a very nice conjunction to see. But Saturn will be very difficult to see.Please take care if you’re using binoculars or telescope at this time the sun will be still above the horizon. And looking directly at the sun will do damage to your eyes sight
