I seem to keep pissing off people, especially people I consider friends, without meaning to - just by being me. And it's really getting to me. I don't like upsetting people, especially when I don't realise why I've upset them. I'm 38 and feel like a kid being chastised every time. 😞

Has anyone played 'Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days'? I'm so tempted as it's on sale and the reviews all say it's essentially 'This War of Mine' but with zombies, and I loved that game. But it's in Early Access, so I'm torn.

My costume for Halloween dress-up at work yesterday. Rather worryingly, several kids knew it was Patrick Bateman from American Psycho, even as young as 13! 😂 One student said I looked 'very handsome', and another said my hair looked great haha. The kids are all right, really.

I really want to continue living in Japan, but I'm increasingly hating my workplace and can't see it getting better. So many colleagues are unhappy this year as the workload is getting worse year on year. One friend has even been put on a support plan (which usually means they leave). It's awful. ☹️

Having a 3-hour Parents' Evening straight after a day of teaching is brutal. I have almost back-to-back meetings from 4-7pm, after being in school since 8am. Good thing we have a 3-day weekend with Monday off. 😴

Played through Dead Letter Dept. (currently on sale!) and it was such a different type of game. I can't do most horror games, but this one was just creepy enough to spook me whilst not being over-the-top scary. Definitely recommend if you want something unique! Multiple endings, too.

Queueing to watch the women's tennis semis today at Arike Coliseum wearing 3 layers and a rain coat to stay warm and dry. 2 years ago I was still in shorts, t-shirt and sunglasses. To make it worse, I just found out that my favourite player withdrew. I only came today to finally see her play live 😭

I went to Disney Sea for the first time yesterday and saw a group of 3 people dressed as Sora, Riku, and Kairi. I was so tempted to go over and tell them how cool their costumes were, but restrained myself as they were taking photos of each other. 😅

I was lulled into a false sense of security when I moved here during COVID in 2020. Queues for my favourite places are now ridiculously long and navigating the Shibuya crowds is nigh-on impossible without getting irrationally angry. I miss the old times. 🥲

Man, fuck that Takezo duel. That was the most ridiculous fight in the entire game. 😑 Had to turn the difficulty down as I was just raging after losing umpteen times in a row. So this platinum feels a little cheap now, but eh...I've got a save just before the fight so I can redo it lol

Finally made it to the Osaka Expo on its final day but can't enjoy it as I'm in too much pain with my back, knees, and feet and the queues for everything are so long. 😭 My friend even tried to get me a wheelchair but the queue for that was 30 minutes. It's crazy.

It's Sports Day here (public holiday) and all of the cafés are shut. What's a girl to do except get ramen for breakfast instead? 😅

What's an indie game that you don't really see people speak about but really love? Mine's 'I Was a Teenage Exocolonist'. Played it through twice and will do so again eventually. Highly recommend if you like visual novels with RPG aspects.

Just did the third of the Yōtei Six and man...this story just gets better and better. 3 more to go... But it's gone midnight and I have to wake up at 8am, so no more tonight. 🥲

I thought I was nearing the end of Ghost of Yōtei after 42 hours, but apparently I'm only 50% through the main missions 😅 Speaks to how much time I've spent on all the side stuff lol

My only complaint about Ghost of Yōtei so far is how difficult it is to win games of zeni hajiki. If you miss just one shot, the opponents will invariably win as they weight their shots perfectly and never miss/go off the edge. This happens from only the second of 4 main areas. It's frustrating. 😩

I wish we could wear one set of armour but make it look like another in Ghost of Yōtei. I love the most recent armour I received but the benefits of my mainstay set far outweigh this one's. 😢

Off work for 3 days last week: come back to almost 100 unread emails. 🫠 Took me half an hour just to delete the unnecessary ones and go through the ones I actually need to do something with. I swear most of the time it's easier just to go in when sick lol

Also, I think it's awesome that Ghost of Yotei includes so much about the Ainu: the people, the language, objects related to them. Given how marginalised they are today, it's interesting to find out just a little more about the indigenous people.

Seems both Ghost games have one eerie as hell quest, and this one for me good with a couple of jumpscares straight out of a horror game 😅 The music and atmosphere of the place was so good, but I'm glad to be done with that particular quest lol

It's one of my favourite times of year: the precious few weeks where I can buy persimmon and eat one every day as my break time snack. I'll forever prefer spring to autumn generally, and especially in Japan, but this fruit almost sways my preference. 😁

Just watching Alice in Borderlands season 3 and without spoiling anything, there's an earthquake mentioned off the southeast coast of Chiba at 60km depth and...we just had two real earthquakes in a row 10 minutes apart in that exact spot and depth. Am I worried? 😅

Are there any other jobs out there where, if you call in sick, you still have to do work for the day? Setting cover work for my classes is so hard, especially having been off for a few days and having no idea what the students have done. Most of the time, it's easier just to go in and teach. 🙄
