"Maroveus was not enthused by Radegund’s brashness" is, to me, not only the most pretentious-sounding sentence I've ever written, but the sentence that most encapsulates the phonoaesthetic of Tolkein's "cellar door". It also sounds vaguely misogynistic and I have to delete it.

UPDATE: the developer himself of Bookends helped me restore a 4ish year old backup I found on a previous hard drive that was locked! So I’ve lost a few things from the past few years; but it’s soooooo much better than starting over from scratch.

Transferred everything I thought I needed from old laptop to new laptop. Erased old laptop. Realized I didn't port over my citation database. Time Machine backups from old laptop all corrupted somehow. 1000+ citation sources gone. 🫠
