Exciting day today. It's been 123 days of learning Japanese and I just finished the first set of beginner lessons. It's exciting! ... Now to start the intermediate lessons. 😬

Took a small break from pushing forward in lessons to just shore up vocabulary kand practice grammar. Still getting my ass kicked by some small pieces (counting things and memorizing kanji is HARD) but overall quite excited. Only have 10 lessons left for level 1.

Yes good. 75%, 75 Days in. It's exciting. I can read, write, and recognize a lot of the words. Speaking and listening is still pretty hard, but we're working in it!

66 days in and I've almost completed the first full unit of learning japanese. Reading and listening is definitely strongest, with speaking and "piecemeal" writing being a weaker second. Learning and writing the Kanji is kicking my ass, lmao. Maybe 3 weeks until I'm finished?

Like... Day 43 of learning Japanese. Definitely slowing progress as I keep messing up some of the more nuanced grammatical points. Counting and measure words is going to be the bane kf my existence with how many "special cases" and rules there are for it. Staying strong and motivated!

Ok maybe I am going too fast, I'm doing one-lesson a day, which is comprised of 3-5 modules per lesson. I just checked the curriculum and I'm apparently 14 days from finishing the "level 1" program. Which I am 100% sure is supposed to be like a semester-ish's worth of lessons.

Last night after my practice but yeah! Almost a month strong now and I'm learning a lot. Have to take a day or two to do nothing but review once or twice a week, but it's helping me retain. My only issue is not a lot of time is spent writing the characters; it's mostly sight recognition for reading.

Update the updatening: about 3 weeks in so far. Know basic grammatical structures yes/no possessives, locations, even starting with time and numbers. Thank god, learning to count to 100 in Japanese is easy and logical and not some "Four twenties and sixteen" ass jank.

All sets learned. Starting to piece together some words. Will start on Katakana next week. Also need to look at the rules for the "alternate sounds" and the rules for making them; looks like it's a (") placed on the character , I.e. "GA" from "KA" and "DE" from "TE" etc.

Took the weekend off. But started back on it. Bit more challenging to remember them all and not mix up a few of the symbols. Also I know it's actually "Fu" but I am not making its own category! Yet.

Day 2.5/3 - four sets of hiragana characters down with decent accuracy. Made a little grid, mixed up sounds and vowel locations so I'm not just drawing them from pattern memory. Working on a fifth set for today. 2 sets per day, 46 characters means ~3 more days before I've got them all "learned."

Today in "Wisty's Motivation Has Decided:" We're learning to write and pronounce Kanji characters in preparation for actually learning Japanese. I've book marked resources and started scribbling like 10 characters into flashcards, it's actually happening. I've overcome inertia.

Heard real-life baby alligator noises and had to do an animation.

Dinged 270 on the scale this week. Still eat like garbage but doing 4+ rounds of disc golf every weekend seems to be helping... About 8-10 miles of walking every weekend on top of my weekly exercise. Not bad. WE CAN GO EVEN FURTHER BEYOND.

I love getting kicked from a SH CM because I am on a power class and the TD Keeps dying early. Check logs - I have lower TD cleave than the healers, but our Condi virtuosos have almost 80% of all cleave. Yeahno. Me on axe Pzerk is clearly what's killing the TD, my had guys. God pugs are dumb.
