Had a DFG proposal rejected today, and taking a look at my previous failure rate, I realized that (at least for me) it is much easier to get a professorship (success rate of applications 50%) than to get a DFG proposal funded (success rate 15%).

It is so great having kids! Back in school, I loved curve sketching in maths. Sadly, I nowadays never need this “skill”. So, I am happy this already is the second time I can help one of my kids to understand how to play with exponential functions! (And two more to come, yay! 🙃)

Interesting read: SARS-CoV-2 induces death of human brain endothelial cells, resulting in loss of blood vessels and reducing oxygen/nutrient suppy in the brain. This might be the reason for the neurological/psychiatric symptoms associated with COVID-19.
