Last week AB 470 died in the Senate—a huge win for CA communities! The bill would have let AT&T walk away from providing landline services that many residents rely on. Big thanks to the Senate Appropriations Committee & Senate Pro Tem Mike McGuire for standing with us!

AB 470 is not a telco modernization bill. It’s deregulation wrapped in equity rhetoric. It weakens consumer protections, abandons oversight, and leaves communities disconnected. That’s not progress. That’s privatization.
