Just migrated porch plants to greenhouse and stopped to admire my Encore Azalea...in November...with lots of blossoms yet to open. She was rescued from neglect and I never thought she'd make it. Nature never ceases to amaze. 🌱

🌱 Found some cuter materials for a hummingbird bubbler bird bath for my porch. Simple pleasures are the best.

🌱 Budget hummingbird birdbath for my porch...ordering a solar powered pump to lose the ugly cord. I had this extra pump in my greenhouse, and gathered a few items on hand. Now I'm on the hunt for cuter materials 😀

🌱 I went to the nursery for dill & chamomile and impulsively snatched up this pretty little thing. Non stop blooming for a couple weeks now.

🌱 I've been upset over these bleeding hearts spreading but never blooming so decided to rip them out...then remembered, "Oh yea, I planted yellow root". Plant saved.

🌱 Someone on this feed recommended Southern Exposure Seeds a while back and I can't remember who it was. Thanks so much whoever you are! ❤️ The germination rate has been outstanding with the seeds I ordered from them. The ship time was quick and the packets are lovely ( a bonus).

I think last night's rain was magic. My Rattlesnake beans were poppin' this morning. Vinnie the Roo was pissed because I shooed him away from nibbling on them while Carmela patiently awaited each planting trowel full for worms and grubs.

🌱 Trying something new... Scraped spores from staghorn fern fronds and set them on moist peat. Hope they sprout.

🌱 It's Good Friday today! Here in the south, that's the safe to plant vegetables signal. And so.... We ride!!!!

🌱 Just arrived :) Zingiber zerumbet, aka awapuhi, shampoo ginger or pinecone ginger. I'm in hardiness zone 8b, some articles say plant in 9 or warmer and some say 8+. I'm going to plant most in big containers and 1 in the ground and see what happens :)

🌱 Out on an errand, found a fabulous nursery 😀 Of course had to stop and explore...I can't not stop. Morgan's Market in Coweta County, GA. Great place with lots of fun stuff.

🌱 Every year, I think, I'm going to try something different in my wee porch flower baskets. And then I see the flats of impatiens at the nursery and can't resist. They do so well in this spot. If it's not broke, don't fix it ❤️

🌱 Yesterday's therapy session at my favorite nursery yielded just a few random mood elevators...and 1 other stop to pick up a bubble mower for my grand daughter, because every little girl needs a bubble mower. And every granny needs to watch a toddler with a bubble mower. ❤️ Simple things are best.

🌱Finally mobile again! Limited, but mobile. Had a therapy session at my favorite nursery yesterday and came home with a couple lovelies and a freaking cool as hell gardening hat. Set my firey flowers out on the grill. 😉

🌱 My wee cool weather test garden has gone to Seed. I've never grown a fall/winter garden here so didn't go big but learned some things. I think I'm gonna need more collards next season. Anyway...I'm gonna let them be pretty flowers until I figure out what's next in this little spot.

🌱 BREAKING: The lightning bugs have arrived early in West Central Georgia! They're still high in the trees but as long as this weather keeps, they'll be on the ground soon & dancing their mating dance soon. Soon we'll be hearing chuck wills widows calling (similar to whipoorwills). I'm so excited!

🌱 Little stroll around the property to make mental notes and plan. Another week or so, and I can rake back leaves. Things are waking up "round here.

🌱 Today was the first really nice day here so I was up and at it early. I worked from can until can't & completely forgot to eat. I shoveled & planted & composted & cleaned etc. It was a glorious day! My back & arms are really pissed off right now though. The blue stuff is my friend.
