This isn't in defense of lists/bullets that lack evocativeness or an endorsement of ttrpg books written with the formatting style of an automotive manual. I just want to read more books with layout like this, they rock. They're gorgeous, the art and text can be material component to the story.

Actually I'll defend the use of bold and lists specifically. In Heir of Swords, these pages lose meaning without bolding, fonts, or lists. The formatting is not this way so its easier to skim, the formatting is a material part of the storytelling. It reads worse and communicates less without it.

my brain doesn’t work anymore, the struggle to design witch character beside knight is real. want to play the idea that the witch get their powers from their patrons and their patrons live inside them but uh yeah…my brain is smoking
