We always tell people that we don’t want to use collector grade 45s for our jukeboxes. The reason is that the needles will eventually destroy the records, or there’s a misfeed/malfunction and the record is destroyed, like this one.

OMG another pinball artifact: Placeholder Genie bash toy from Tales of the Arabian Nights. Used to test pose and position of the final sculpted toy. Art by McMahon on xerox and colored pencil with butyrate cover.

Next random pinball artifact: A Pinball 2000 PUB card. After the launch we got feedback that P2K's software update system was a bit exotic for most operators. It needed a laptop, serial cable, a network connection to download files, and some detailed instructions. Some found it confusing. (more)

Old #pinball lore: the IRC chats. WMS was the kind of firm that didn't give people a lot of access inside the building. There were interviews with trade mags and once in a while Schelberg got to come inside, but nothing was really targeted at players. We tried to change that in the mid 90s. (more)
