We need to build some real social stigma around being afraid of cities. You don't have to like them or live there, but a politics built this strongly around watching TV and going "ewww" is embarrassing, and people should be embarrassed by it. It's like "fear of werewolves" being your top issue.

Everything Iāve learned about labubu is against my will, and I will never never ever ever ever understand the hysteria. Just another strata laying itself above the funkos and the fidget spinners in the Anthropocene landfill. If you were hysterical about these fried beetles?? I get it

Finally getting this āLight In The Darknessā 8x10 reprinted - this painting was done in the depths of 2021 when I really needed something to center myself when recovering from surgery gone VERY wrong. Hard to imagine now, but

Super springy and summery feeling with these queen lime zinnias and squash blossoms from a couple summers ago - a flower you do NOT want to freehand draw on, I assure you. I will never get tired of black snakes weaving through tattoos.

I remember when I first did this, it hit the Explore page on IG - huge amounts of comments about how disgusting this was (as a roach, I mean yes, polarizing choice) and sexist comments about how a woman could do this to themselves. Not a single comment was like this from my actual followers š§µ

Artists, Iām completely split: do you hang your own artwork in the studio that youāve made it in? Or things that youāre inspired by? My (art) studio walls are bare for this reason, but I feel like I should bring my artwork to the tattoo studio where people actually see it.

In occupied France, people would drop their used matches folded into a V, as a secret sign of resistance. People who opposed the Nazis would see them, knew they weren't alone, & felt emboldened to take action. Some modern day equivalents here--small but powerful actions you can absolutely do:
loading . . .
Thirty lonely but beautiful actions you can take right now which probably won't magically catalyze a mass movement against Trump but that are still wildly important
Why? Because others will see you do them, and it will make it easier for them to take their own (slightly less lonely but equally beautiful) action by your side

This morning at Dept of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) HQ in DC as mandatory return to office began, this video played on loop for ~5 mins on screens throughout the building, per agency source. Building staff couldnāt figure out how to turn it off so sent people to every floor to unplug TVs.

Been looking back on my archive: In a way, my largest Torchbearer tattoo, and certainly my oldest - finished back in 2014/15 (I think!?) several lifetimes ago, but the image has always been rattling around in my brain. Still remains one of my largest b&g tattoos to this day!

Coverups are always a fun challenge, but I do take pride and always honored to cover a tattoo done by a jerk (or in this case, JK Rowling) - crouching mean lil junco torchbearer bird.

Year of the Really Big Snake and unreal looking (but very real) chrysanthemums. Drawing this leg sleeve directly onto my client takes hours, but I used stencils for the centers of the chrysanthemum. This wraps almost fully around the leg! Lining took ~8 hours.

When the Patriot Act was passed, libraries got requests for patronsā borrowing history. We were prohibited from disclosing those requests. We deleted and shredded those records and stopped tracking reading history for that reason. ALSO.

When youāve renovated a house, and have a partner with museum level drywall skill - staying at airbnbs is borderline intolerable unless you can make a game of finding the worst DIY job in the place. (A nearly 5 star reviewed place somehow?)
