I think that AEW airing their PPVs before WWE's own PLEs is having an interesting effect of making an already-dull WWE event seem even more uninspired by having to follow. Iyo/Vaquer was an amazingly solid match, but All Out just didn't miss IMO. An incredible card start to finish. #WrestleSky

Played through Ninja Gaiden 2 Black some time ago, but forgot to post about it here! Genuinely a solid experience. I think the hate it gets is a bit exaggerated as a whole as it isn't a "bad" way to experience NG2 + the patch that ups enemy count in Chapters 13 and 14 are a welcome improvement.

Guess who's back~? My first byline since my days at Screen Rant in 2023, and I come out swinging. I discuss Journey, the personal experience I had with the game, and how AI Could Never replicate something so antithetical to what video games are or have become.

Karrion Kross is an example of someone who needs a character and a motive beyond "Best Wrestler", and when given that on-screen motivation for his persona, he can thrive and make compelling TV. He excelled when given something to work with, and that's why he's so beloved now.

100%'d Crisis Core Reunion, and boy do I have thoughts on the overall experience. tl;dr - Gameplay improvements over PSP version were veeeery noticeable and welcomed, but the game's just not balanced around the changes. Story's as solid as ever, and I feel weird about the VA performances.

I used to interview voice actors in a podcast group with three friends once I was out of high school. Strong weekend of wrestling from both AEW/ROH and WWE. Some harsh lows (Adam Cole's announcement/Rollins' injury), some unexpected surprises (Gunther/Goldberg being fun), and some really strong highs (Hangman/Mox, Swerve-Ospreay/Bucks, Rhea/Iyo, Takeshita/Bandido). Overall, very solid.

Hangman vs. Mox at #AEWAllIn is probably one of the most important matches in the company's history with two of the most important foundational names of AEW. Hangman demanding Texas Death can be a sign of him stepping up like Mox demanded... or Hangman lying to himself once more. Let's go, Hanger!

Being able to exist in a scene should be a given, but when a scene shifts just because of your life's journey, every achievement is made to matter that much more. Tricky has been an incredible representative for VF and LGBTQ+ players, and the scene should be supporting this.

Guess it's time: #DWOrigins final thoughts. As someone who's played Musou games since DW2/the first Shin Sangoku Musou, Origins was the perfect step in the right direction. I think there're a lot of amazing things done with this game as a whole from the combat to the game flow as a whole. (1/17)

#DWOrigins Platinum Trophy achieved~! What an experience of a game from start to finish. I'll compile my full thoughts tomorrow as well as my thoughts on Shu's Hypothetical Routing, but this was genuinely one of the few experiences that "felt next-gen" for me. Incredible.

I have officially completed the story of #DWOrigins + the Dream Battle at the end of the game. Phew... I've got thoughts to compile about that experience along with some thoughts on the Shu/Liu Bei Army Campaign, but the tl;dr is that some hangups aside, this is the best Musou game I've played.

The amount of foreshadowing going on in Liu Bei's story path in #DWOrigins for those who know where his path leads after Chibi is insane. Zhang Fei capping it with "And so he needs to be careful to maintain it" is *chef's kiss*.

I thought the 1,000 Li March couldn't get better beyond hearing Arena/Steal A March, but maaaan the way they set up what came next was fantastic. I was already firmly in the camp of this being the best DW game, but moments like that make it almost without dispute IMO. #DWOrigins

Doing a Shu run in #DWOrigins, and it's very interesting to see how Liu Bei persuades you to join him because of his own uncertainty in his decision-making compared to Cao Cao and Sun Ce being very clear on the purpose and their goals, yet Liu Bei needs guidance full-stop. Very fitting.

#DWOrigins thoughts now that I've finished the Wu Story's main path: The Wu Army's dynamic is probably one of its more fascinating deviations. At the start of the run, I made a Vin Diesel "Family" reference about it, but it comes across in the best way as you play it... save for one moment.

Picking up #DWOrigins again, and I have to say that the game impresses me with the Wu Army dynamic, especially seeing Lu Meng develop into a more learned tactician. The older DW games sort of gloss over this, but Origins does a good job of painting the focus on him as he starts to develop.

A few topics have been coming to mind in regards to the FGC and fighting games in general that I'd love to write about and find a home for. Been feeling inspired on that front lately, and I feel the need to shake off some grime from my previous writing employer.

If you think the best way to get people to play your favorite game is to kick people while they're down about their own favorite game instead of showcasing what makes your game great, I think you just encourage people to never play your game out of sheer spite.

As a former writer for a Valnet website, many thoughts are running through my mind regarding Polygon being snatched up by that absolute parasite of a parent company. I wish all of the writers and journalists hit with the lay-offs today the absolute best. This is a damn shame for gaming journalism.

Competed on the Tampa Never Sleeps VF Tournament tonight and went 2-2. Was fun to be able to at least show my support for the scene in some fashion and participate! And now, I sit in the stands for the rest of it. #PlayVF

Tomorrow, I will be competing in my first VF tournament in about 3 years. I'm showing up to show my support for the series that got me into competitive fighting games. My goal? To give my best to the game that gave me its best 22 years ago. VF Lives, and we are its proof.

Seeing people hate Tekken 8 Season 2 so much that they've collectively forgotten how much everyone hated Tag 2 is crazy to me. I always loved Tag 2 myself, so I had people thinking I was out of my mind back then. Kinda just proves the meme about people thinking "old game better".

Seeing people talking about that Tekken 8 Boycott website as if it was a recent thing, but in reality, it's been a thing since T8's launch era. It's not about Tekken 8 Season 2 nor any of the recent gripes, and I hope people realize that.

Been currently engaged with #BleachRoS as my main game of choice, and I've gotta say? It's a pretty fun fighter with a sense of depth in his movement and mechanics. It's got some hang-ups (Some bigger than others), but as an older Bleach fan, I'm definitely enjoying it.
