My friend at the shelter has just sent me this, assuring me that yes settling in well and that he’ll soon have a loving home.

A very teary farewell. But here he is, already zonked out on the cat-nip in his new en-suite accommodation. And it turns out that I know the woman who runs the rescue cattery. It’s all going to be okay.

Update: miraculously, the shelter has a place for him! But he can only go in two days’ time, so he’ll stay with me until Friday. #catwatch

An upsetting thing at the gym just now. This lovely chap approached me in the car park, meowing as if he were actually pleading for help. I think he’s been abandoned, as there are no houses nearby. Brought him home, of course, and fed him. Ravenous. Will take him to vet tomorrow. Hope he’s chipped.

Anyone got access to the most recent issue of ‘Eighteenth-Century Fiction’? My uni library database hasn’t updated yet, and there’s a review (the first) of my Lewis book in there. Gulp. If anyone could email it to me I’d be so happy. (But don’t read the review — in case they say it’s shit)
