Look, I've played through A LOT of older Star Wars games over the past two years. Naturally, all of them had an opening crawl. Even Masters of Teräs Käsi, that basically has no plot. Even the educational Jabba's Math Galaxy! After a while it got exhausting rather than exciting.

Those who claim that #TheMandalorianAndGrogu  is "too safe", while not entirely wrong, undersell just how freaking weird it really is. Aliens, droids and monsters reign supreme here. Human faces appear on screen for maybe 10% of the total runtime. It's a Jim Henson adventure on steroids.

The last 24h of the discourse around TMAG was exhausting (a taste of things to come, no doubt), so listening to Bryan and Kingston discuss the movie with joy and excitement was a much-needed palette cleanser. Because, ultimately, that's what movies — and Star Wars — are all about.
