The most terrifying thing about Trump and his ilk is how bad they are at being, you know, human. As a rule, tyrants lack empathy, yes. But it takes a special kind of sociopath to not consider whether what they're saying is appropriate and how it can be interpreted by others. No wonder they love AI.

Watching #TheLegendOfHei, I kept thinking how it's a pretty solid X-Men adaptation. I never knew the sequel would go even further and open with an X2-like massacre of a magic school by human soldiers!

It's like poetry. They sort of-- They rhyme.

So, having now seen #WakeUpDeadMan, I have to wonder. Is Rian Johnson the kindest filmmaker working today? Like, in his art and life, he consistently seems to be a good, moral man. Even his villains he not so much hates, but ridicules and lets them destroy themselves.

Not to defend this movie specifically, but adapting #AnimalFarm as it was written just wouldn't make sense in 2025. Today we are more likely to see dictatorships rise not from left-wing revolutionaries' insatiable lust for power, but from politicians prostrating themselves before corporations.

Attended a friendly Friday queer-together to watch the first half of #HeatedRivalry S1. (even got a sticker to commemorate the occasion) Really impressed with the show so far! Horny, dramatic, features some of the best faux-Russian I've ever heard and uses sex as a genuine storytelling tool.

Slept on it. Came to conclusion that, in year 2025, misanthropy is kinda repulsive to me. It's a refusal to engage with the world that's hurting. Lines between good and evil have never been clearer, yet here's a movie that shouts: "You are both mad, cruel weirdos! Just leave me be!"

I honestly don't know what to think of #Bugonia, other than that it was a deeply uncomfortable experience. Intentionally so. Maybe.

Still thinking on #NoOtherChoice and how it's about the lies the "good people" tell themselves – the greatest of which, of course, is that they have no other choice. That illusion of inevitability is what capitalism is all about. It exploits our fears instead of helping us fulfill our potential.

Last time I checked, the "worst movie ever made" scored 53 on Metacritic and B+ on CinemaScore (not great, not terrible), received three Oscar noms, three BAFTA noms, recognition from almost every technical guild, plus Grammy and Hugo noms. But sure, go on with you performative hatred, I guess.
