Wonder why the East Coast is facing extreme heat? Oil companies have known that fossil fuels would cause heatwaves like this. They ran their own climate models. The science was clear. Instead of listening to it, they buried the truth. Now, we’re the ones paying the price.

First, Toyota donated $1 million to Trump's inauguration. Then, Trump's CFPB said they don't have to pay $40 million in customer refunds anymore. And now, Trump's DOJ closed its investigation into allegations of Toyota bribery. Our government is up for sale.

Big Oil has known for over 50 years that burning fossil fuels would cause "globally catastrophic harms." Those are their own words. And yet they kept burning. Listen to David Arkush testify in front of Senate Judiciary on Big Oil's complicity in the climate crisis:

Big Oil "knew ‪decades ago that burning fossil fuels would cause, in its own words, 'globally catastrophic' harm." What did the industry do with that knowledge? "It actively lied and deceived people," said

We are losing to China in a competition for the future. Instead of producing energy smarter, the U.S. is defunding cleaner, safer, and cheaper energy. So the way to make America great is to fall behind??? Make it make sense.

Property insurance looks a lot like health insurance: companies take increasingly higher profits while withdrawing coverage and offloading costs to more and more people. We can turn it around. Here's how 👇

🚨 Maine just became the 9th U.S. state to sue Big Oil for climate deception! Big Oil companies have lied for decades about the catastrophic harm they knew their products would cause. Now it's time for accountability.

On Monday
@senmarkey.bsky.social
& Rep. Pressley wrote the Federal Reserve urging it to mitigate climate-related risk by requiring institutions it supervises to "submit and execute plans to align their activities with science-based climate targets, including reducing financed emissions." BFD!

It's good that
@gavinnewsom.bsky.social
and Ricardo Lara are acting to stabilize the CA insurance market. It's bad that they're ignoring the root of the problem. They should require insurers to stop supporting fossil fuels. If they don't stop the crisis at the root, it will keep coming back.

Insurers like are "screwing the public on climate change" -- abandoning homeowners over climate hams while continuing to insure and invest in fossil fuels. Great coverage from

The transition to clean energy is being driven by economics. “There is an inexorable economic logic to this transition,” he said. And although the transition needs to go faster, “it provides massive momentum to have the economics on our side.”

It's bad enough for
@politico.com
to run API ads. It should at least reject ones that are grossly misleading / nearly outright false. This "car ban" rhetoric is making its way to everyday people as "the EPA wants to ban your car and take it away." False and inflammatory -- and that's the point.

Q: In this era, who holds a symposium called "Structural Shifts in the Global Economy" and fails to put climate change and the clean energy transition on the agenda? A: The Federal Reserve, other central bankers, and top economists. The absence of leadership is stunning.
