It sounds like Donald is feeling the pressure, but he clearly didn't get the message from Davos. Carney, and the world, are done with his nonsense. They have decided he is an unreliable trade partner and are moving on. Trump is just digging a deeper hole for the U.S.

The mistake here is the hotels thinking Canadians aren't visiting because it is too expensive. This isn't the case. It is about national pride and self respect. In many cases changes in travel and purchasing habits is costing Canadians more so it certainty isn't about money.

Every time Trump says anything he just adds another giant exclamation mark to Carney's speech.

Canadians need to remember this when it comes to re-negotiating CUSMA. Trump will threaten to kill the deal if he doesn't get his way but it is bluster. Call his bluff, stand firm, and he'll be forced to back down because he knows American businesses/economy would be greatly negatively impacted.

Bill Gates was on CNBC talking about using AI in the Gates foundation to help deliver Healthcare in in Africa. The idea is patients will input their symptoms into AI, book their appointment using AI, so when they come to tgeir appointment there will be no additional paperwork needed.

I think Canadians emotionally want a speech that lashes out at Trump. This may be satisfying but ineffective. Instead, Carney's speech was to call out European allies still trying to appease Trump and rally them to instead build a coalition of middle powers with the heft to act as a counter balance.

After a bit of a delay I am working on the team cards again. This is what I have. The bars show the range from worst to best and where the team sits along that scale. More blue=better. The boxes across the top show 7 key summary metrics and numbers indicate % of way between worst and best and rank.

On Nov 11 Calgary (4-12-2) and Nashville (5-9-4) were by far the worst teams in the league with sub .400 points percentages. Since then Calgary is 14-6-2 and Nashville is 13-8-0 and both are solidly back in the playoffs race.

Also, the first tariffs on Canada kicked in March 4th. Prior to the tariffs the TSX/S&P500 performance closely mirrored each other. Since then the TSX has significantly out performed.

After working through some more color schemes, I am leaning towards to a uniform light blue-red color scheme which has a cleaner/simpler look and the grey dots representing other teams show up better. Thoughts?

Of these teams, Minnesota had the best under 25 center to offer Vancouver. You'd have to think that if Buffalo still had Dylan Cozens instead of injury prone Josh Norris they might have been able to match Minnesota's package. I never understood that Cozens-Norris trade from Buffalo's perspective.

Losing Hughes is obviously going to hurt but this is a pretty solid return for Vancouver. They get a much needed 2C and a young defenseman with a very good upside plus a couple of lottery picks in Ohgren and the 1st.
